Learn to edit for emotion using Adobe Lightroom

When you edit, you are simply enhancing the capabilities of your camera and bringing to life the true nature of what was photographed.

Truthfully, your camera is often unable to capture everything exactly the way you see it and a little editing can go a long way to bring details back into the picture, to make the stormy sky look as dramatic as it did in your brains eye.

In this workshop, Twyla will share with you how to use Adobe Lightroom like a pro.

Some of the lessons covered during this free hour-long workshop include:

  • Optimize several lightroom app settings to speed up the program
  • Generate files to allow you to work without being connected to your raw files!
  • Generate previews to allow you to cull at lightning fast speeds with no delay when going from image to image
  • Save your catalog to allow you to work between different computers and access it from anywhere in the world
  • Edit your images in a specific order or operations to increase performance

Registration is free.

I’m Twyla! I’m a Kansas born biologist turned photographer and educator.

I am most passionate about sharing my knowledge and the way I see the world with other creatives who desire to more authentically express their truth; their wild within.

I haven’t always done what I love for a living; photographing effortlessly beautiful sessions, traveling the world teaching other creatives and sharing my knowledge through online courses.

Just a few years ago I was a histologist at a pathology lab looking for a creative outlet and wishing I could spend more time traveling and loving on my babies. A few months after my second child was born my husband encouraged me to set my iPhone down and invest in a real camera. I had no idea this would lead to living a creatively fulfilled life doing what I love; conjuring and preserving beautiful memories for others while simultaneously sharing my skill set with other photographers.

Being a wife, mother and photographer has fueled a heightened awareness of all the amazing, subtle ways I connect with my family. I use this as inspiration to recreate those moments for clients. I am asked most often to teach others how to tap into the beautiful connections in their own lives, enabling them to find their own heart and soul in the images they create.

The greatest gift I have been given is the platform to share my view of the world with other photographers. Showing them how effortless a session can be and connecting them with the tools to create soulful, emotive images is my greatest pleasure. Finding yourself through your art and learning to guide your clients into moments that make you want to simultaneously laugh and cry is my mission for you.

I currently reside on the beautiful east coast of Florida and spend my waking hours being present in the beautiful moments that make up my life with my husband, exploring with my two adventurous little boys, and helping other photographers find the confidence they need to create meaningful, authentic artwork for both themselves and their clients.
